自 Prof. Jessica Li, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University

Advancements in social media and communication technologies have increased minors' vulnerability to online sexual exploitation (OSEC), including grooming, sexting, extortion, live-streamed abuse, and sharing of pornographic images.Prof. Jessica Li leads this project, building on her 2023 RGC-funded research on school responses to OSEC. Supported by the Humanities and Social Sciences Prestigious Fellowship Scheme in 2025 (PolyU 35001025), the 'Build2Stop' project engaged students in 2026 through 10 focus groups. This initiative combines block-building activities with animated vignette stories to gather insights and develop strategies to protect children from online risks. Students’ perspectives on OSEC and their suggested responses were expressed through block-building scenarios, aiming to foster safer environments and combat online exploitation effectively.
